Significant 事件 in School 历史

The Bill Munday School of Business has worked diligently throughout its history to connect with the Austin community and with our students to assure we meet their needs. We do this by providing a challenging curriculum taught by faculty with real-world experience who help students understand and prepare to respond to developments in the evolving global economy.

1922

St. 爱德华的 University offers a two-year “Short Program in Commerce or Business Administration.”

1924

St. 爱德华的 inaugurates a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

1925

St. 爱德华的 receives its university charter.

1970

模型问 replaces the four divisions of business administration, social sciences, 人文学科, and physical and biological sciences with the 中心 for Business Administration, 艺术s and Sciences, and Teaching and Learning.

1970

Dr. Edgar Roy, president of St. 爱德华的 University, launches an MBA program to provide working members of the local community with an evening degree program. The first class comprises 35 students.

The faculty design the curriculum based on meetings with an advisory committee of local businessmen about what is needed in the evolving world of business.
Many employers want such a program for their employees, including IBM, Texas Instruments, 摩托罗拉, 3M and city/state agencies, as well as officers at Bergstrom Air Force Base.
Dr. Leo Osterhaus, the new chair of the Business Center, creates a 30-hour core curriculum in collaboration with the faculty. All courses are offered at night with specialties such as public administration, business management and taxation.

1972

A total of 11 students are the first MBA graduates.

1979

Dr. Boyd Collier becomes chair of the Business Center and serves through 1982.

1987-1990

George Dawkins serves as chair of the Center for Business Administration.

1990

The 中心 for Business Administration, 艺术s and Sciences, and Teaching and Learning become the 学校 of Business, Humanities, Behavioral and Social Sciences, and Education.

1990-1992

Hadi Oveisi serves as interim dean of the business school.

1992-1994

Frank Krafka serves as interim dean of the business school.

1994-1995

Lewis Myers serves as interim dean of the business school.

1995-1998

David Kendall serves as dean of the business school.

1998-2004

Marsha Kelliher serves as interim dean of the MBA program.

1998-2004

Frank Krafka serves as interim dean of the undergraduate business program.

2002

Dr. Frank Krafka becomes the dean of the School of 管理 and Business. He initiates the SEUganda Project to assist Holy Cross Sisters in rural Uganda with raising funds by selling handcrafted goods.

2002

Trustee Hall, a 33,000-square-foot academic facility, opens and becomes the home of the School of 管理 and Business. It contains 15 classrooms and a 24-hour computer lab, as well as administrative and faculty offices. The facility was featured in Architectural Digest for its award-winning design.

2002

Marsha Kelliher becomes dean of the graduate business program.

2005

First daytime MBA course of study in Digital Media 管理 is offered.

2005-2013

Marsha Kelliher becomes dean of the School of 管理 and Business for the combined undergraduate and graduate business programs and serves through June 2013.

2007

The Business Plan Competition, an annual event, is implemented to provide students a forum for presenting their ideas for new businesses, products and services to university faculty, area business leaders and entrepreneurs.

2008

The Master of 会计 program is implemented as a 30-hour program that qualifies students to sit for the CPA exam in Texas. The MBA degree with a concentration in 会计 continues to be offered.
